Clutch

Clutch is a clip recorder for mobile gamers. It keeps a rolling buffer of your gameplay running in the background, so the instant after something incredible happens you tap once and the last ninety seconds are saved.

Overview

Mobile gamers miss their best moments. By the time you think to hit record, the clutch play is already over. Clutch fixes that by recording continuously in the background and letting you reach back in time.

We built the product end to end: a low-overhead rolling buffer on top of iOS screen capture, a one-tap save-and-share flow, auto-upload to a personal feed, and a dark, fast interface that stays out of the way mid-match.

Live on iOS

01

The challenge

Recording a whole session wastes storage and battery, and asks players to decide in advance which moments will matter. The interesting moment is always the one you did not press record for.

02

The approach

A continuous in-memory buffer holds the last few minutes at all times. One tap trims and saves the clip you want, anywhere from 5 to 120 seconds, at 1080p, then auto-uploads it to your Clutch profile. The interface is built for glancing at between rounds: near-black, high contrast, a single green action.

03

The outcome

Clutch is live on iOS with Call of Duty Mobile as the launch title and more games on the way. Players capture highlights without breaking concentration, and share them in seconds.

The payoff

You play in landscape. Clutch keeps rolling, so the clip is yours the second it happens. Turn it sideways.
